How to Make a Black Forest Cake
Ingredients
For the cake:
- 1½ cups flour
- 1 cup sugar
- ½ cup cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp baking powder
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- ½ cup oil
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
For the filling & topping:
- 2 cups whipped cream
- 1 cup cherries (fresh or canned)
- Chocolate shavings
- Cherry syrup or juice

Bake the cake:
Mix dry ingredients like cocoa, flour and then add wet ingredients like egg. Remember to beat the eggs for several minutes until it's pale and fluffy. Then Bake at 180°C for 30–35 minutes. Let it cool completely. -
Layer it up:
Slice the cake into 2 to 3 layers. Brush each layer with cherry syrup for moisture. -
Add the filling:
Spread whipped cream and cherries between each layer. -
Decorate:
Cover the entire cake with whipped cream. Top with chocolate shavings and cherries. -
Chill & serve:
Refrigerate for an hour before serving for the best texture.
